Smoking of Cigarettes resembles charismatic people. A Cigarette and the roll of air radiating outside makes a person look cooler. People and youth stand unknown to the fact of harmful charm they carry while smoking. Lungs are not the only part of the body getting affected due to Smoking. The brain, heart, circulation, stomach, blood vessels, eyes and nostrils also get affected equally. Also, chewing tobacco affects oral health adversely. Chewing tobacco can cause internal harm to the oral parts.
The Cigarette was first used by the Native Americans. Smoking was done very rarely then. Only on the traditional occasions, for medical purposes, smoking was picked. Smokeless tobacco is another type of hazardous product. It is either served dry or moist. It is also available in different flavors. Chewing tobacco is one of the types of Smokeless tobacco. A portion of tobacco is put between the cheek and gum or under the upper lip for chewing tobacco. Chewing tobacco may not seem as serious as smoking Cigarettes. However, chewing tobacco creates serious problems. Oral cancer is one of the severe disease caused by chewing tobacco. When chewing tobacco, the nicotine present in the tobacco is absorbed by the tissues of the internal mouth. The nicotine is hazardous. Chewing tobacco causes these tissues deteriorate. Other side problems caused due to chewing tobacco are decaying of teeth, loss of teeth and serious injuries to the internal mouth organs.
Another type of smoking weapon is e-Cigarette. e-Cigarettes are the electronic products. They contain a liquid or juice. The liquid comprises nicotine, propylene glycol, glycerine, etc. The amount of tobacco in an e-Cigarette is comparatively lower than Smokeless Cigarettes, Cigarettes and Cigars. The e-Cigarette device is heated to produce the vapor of the liquid present inside. These vapors are inhaled by the smoker. This device is used as a solution to Cigarettes.

1. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease(COPD)
Almost all parts of the body get affected due to smoking. Majorly, lungs get affected on a large scale. This happens because the inhaled polluted air goes straight into the lungs. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is one of the serious and common diseases suffered from the chain smokers. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease defines Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It’s a progressive disease. It starts with simple coughing and shortness of breath. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease worsens to a level that a person falls unable to walk and stand. It also narrows the airways to the lungs. The tissues inside the lungs slowly get destroyed. There is no direct treatment or cure of the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Lung transplantation, oxygen therapy, quit smoking and regular medication can be the solution to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease mainly comprises of Chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
2. Persistent Coughing
The airways toward lungs consist of the cilia. Cilia are the thin structured hair-like cells. They help for purification. The toxic substances present in the air are filtered through the cilia and are passed towards the mouth. However, the poisonous substances present in the Cigarettes paralyzes these cells. This causes the toxic material to enter the lungs. The lungs try to repel the unwanted substances entered. Therefore, causing cough. With a period of time, the cough goes on increasing. A cough produced is dry at first. Over time, it produces phlegm. Phlegm or sputum is a type of mucus produced in the respiratory tract. Coughing up blood, hoarse voice, wheezing while coughing, shortness of breath, pain while coughing, unexpected weight loss are the serious factors accompanied by persistent coughing. If such symptoms noticed it alerts for an immediate treatment.
3. Lung Cancer
The symptoms of Lung Cancer are short breathing, persistent coughing, coughing out blood, weight loss, etc. The lung tumor slowly grows inside the lungs. The Lung Cancer cells grow enormously. 85% of the total patients with Lung Cancer are affected due to smoking. The other 15% suffer due to the continuous exposure to air pollution, second-hand smoking, radon gas, etc. The treatment of the Lung Cancer includes surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy. There are two types of Lung Cancer which grow, the small cell lung cancers (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLC). According to the study, Lung Cancer surpasses breast cancer in women causing them serious problems and also death.
People suffer from short breath, more mucus. When a person smokes the cells creating mucus grows in amount. This creates surplus mucus. The mucus thickens and increases. Smoking may cause infection from the growing mucus. The excess growth of mucus causes Chronic bronchitis, one of the types of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
It is considered difficult to quit smoking. The nicotine present in the Cigarettes is highly addictive. There are many rehabilitation centers developed to help quit smoking. To quit smoking, many natural and artificial products have been introduced in the market. Smoking is mostly picked up because of the high-stress level, boredom or depression. At times, smoking is adopted because of the company one carries. Adopting a bad habit seems easy. It’s difficult to quit smoking.
To quit smoking one needs to plan for a routine. The plan should include from consulting a doctor and ask them to suggest a proper way to quit smoking. The doctor will come to know how addicted the patient is and may suggest an appropriate treatment accordingly. Self-realization and decision are equally important.
